How to Create themes for your Sony Ericsson

There are a whole bunch of sharewares and free programs out there that claim to assist you in create themes for your cellular phone. But a program which I found to be very user-friendly for creating themes is the Lasyk mTC v2. It’s great for new users because it’s not too complicated and the program does not drown you with too much customization or settings. You can also use the program to read themes, for example ones you can download from websites. Insert the website: Lasyk Networks myThemeCreator - mTC v2, and press ‘Get mTC’ and simply select the program type most suited to you.

The next step now is to download it to your computer. Find a location and remember where you downloaded. BUT wait; this just downloads the “INSTALL” program. You need to “RUN” the program to have the mTC v2 installed on your computer. Now simply, select where you want the theme creator to be located and it will then automatically install onto your computer. Remember to save the program to a location you will remember, as I have had experiences forgetting the program location.

Open up the Lasyk mTC v2 program and you will see a bunch of screens on the top and various options for you to select. I would recommend selecting the images you plan to use for the themes, as after browsing through my files for some time, the program would freeze up. Press graphic editor and you will see a large box and you can select your images.

The feature I find most useful, is that after selecting the image, you have the option to either crop the image to the required screen size (select in the section Device Selection), or to Resize the image. After applying the images onto the theme, you need to apply to the theme and save to your computer. The option to change the color of the text, the size of the clock and other features is also great. Extremely useful function as if the text does not blend with the color of the background, you will be able to change it.

After you are comfortable with your theme layout and design, head towards the top left corner of the program and press File. Find ‘Save as’ and the theme will save to your computer as a theme file, which you can easily upload to your phone immediately after finishing the theme.

Overall, this is a well laid out theme creating program, easy to use and takes probably no more than 10, 15 minutes to create a theme. Would recommend this to anyone interested in creating their own themes, and also a helpful tool for reading theme files after you have downloaded them.

FREE Audio Program by Brian Tracy

Glenda is a single mother who had a steady job that supported both she and her young son. In her mid 30s, Glenda developed cataracts that caused her to become legally blind. She could no longer work, drive or perform daily household activities such as cooking and reading to her son. Eye surgery provided by the Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation restored Glenda’s sight. Glenda says, “I am able to support myself and my family again and that is very important to me.”

The Lighthouse has over 175 stories like Glenda’s from last year alone. The Lighthouse has also provided over 500 pairs of glasses and 600 hearing aids to Georgians in need over the last year. They recycle over 100,000 pairs of eyeglasses a year to send on medical relief missions. That is what the Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation is about–helping restore the sight and hearing of others.

How can the public help? By donating old cell phones to the Lighthouse’s Cells for Sight Program. The cell phone collection program provides revenue for sight surgeries like Glenda’s. The cell phones that have been collected have already paid for three surgeries this year.

Through working with cell phone recycling giant PaceButler Corporation, the Lighthouse has raised $10,000 for their sight program. Their goal is to collect 100,000 cell phones, so they’re asking individuals as well as businesses to get involved and collect phones on their behalf.

The cell phones collected not only help the Lighthouse and their projects, they also help the environment. Environmental Protection Agency regulations state that toxic items such as cell phones should be kept out of landfills because of their destructive effect on the environment. Cell phones are constructed of materials known as ‘persistent toxins’ that don’t easily decompose after disposal. By donating your old cell phones, you can help to ensure they do not end up in landfills.

Contact the Lighthouse at (404) 325-3630 for a location to donate used cell phones. For more information on how you can help, visit http://www.lionslighthouse.org Or, to find a charity in your area where you can donate cell phones, go to http://www.AmericanCellPhoneDrive.org
