iPod touch now running Mail, Google Maps, and more

October 20, 2007 by The Mighty No Comments »

Now that the iTouch is available, many people are trying to jailbreak their device (alike the iPhone) so that they can use 3rd party apps and other WiFi features! Now it’s possible to do that, see the below picture to show you evidence of this:

We’re not looking at general availability yet, but those happy hacking cats unravelling the iPod touch have decrypted the ramdisk and are now busy installing applications. Already, Mail, Maps, and other 3rd party apps are up and running on their jailbreaked touches. Once we can get a hold of the procedures in unlocking the iTouch we will show you here. Here is another screenshot after the break of the mapping for GPS.

Blackberry Pearl 2 (Blackberry 8120)

October 16, 2007 by The Mighty No Comments »

Always Blackberry is always adding new features to their devices; this time they have added WiFi finally to their next BlackBerry Pearl. Apparently, the new device will be called BlackBerry 8120, and will hit the shelves somewhere in September this year. Furthermore, the 8120 will be available in “at least 3 or 4 new color choices.” The best thing about it is that it will feature a better, 2 MP camera, and WiFi. connectivity.

It seems that Rogers in Canada will be launching the updated Pearl in September, with a U.S. carrier (T-Mobile?) getting a “one week jumpstart.” The price point is aimed around $550 US (without a contract) or $249 with a 3 year contract with Rogers. We will give you more update so keep us posted on when and where you can pick one up! But for now, you can pick up a replacement battery for your current Blackberries from our store. We have batteries for the 72xx, 7700, 81xx, 87xx, 71xx series and more!
