The state of Illinois is making it easier for consumers to get out of their cell phone contracts. A new “lemon law,” which just passed the House of Representatives, carries a three strikes rule for wireless providers. If a handset requires repair or replacement three times, signees can cancel their contract without penalty.
Additional clauses allow consumers to upgrade or downgrade their cell phones while paying the same fees commonly found with promotional discounts.
The bill isn’t law yet. It still needs to pass through the Senate and finally the Governor. Although this law will only apply to Illinois residents, it may set precedent for other states to follow.

Is such a law good for consumers? If the bill passes, will wireless providers experience a rise in replacement claims? Imagine being able to break your phone on purpose to get out of a long-term contract.
In due time, we’ll eventually find out if a law can be effective.

The Motorola Pebl is a well designed phone without all the fancy gizmo’s. A far cry from modern day phones, commonly packed with features I could care less about, such as megapixel cameras, multimedia messaging, MP3 functionality and personal videos. Most consumers never use these extra features anyway.

I never held a phone that felt so good in my hand. The smooth exterior and oval shape brings true meaning to the Pebl name. Sure, this phone has a camera and video recorder, but it’s not bloated with too many features. And like most Motorola phones, the PEBL is well built and very appealing to the eye.
If your looking for a stylish but simple phone, the Motorola Pebl is a perfect choice for individuals who want a compact package without all the trimmings. It comes in a variety of colors to suit your taste. Why not give it a try?
